The Leverage Devotional by Apostle Segun Obadje 4 July 2024: Established In The Word Of Faith (1)
Established In The Word Of Faith (1)
Romans 10:8; Romans 10:17
Romans 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach
Leverage Devotional For Today Message:
The word of faith is not just a movement, nor a cliché or denomination that is used to describe a particular set of believers. It is the word of God that gives us the ability to believe God. Many times, believers rant on trying to believe God on a particular aspect of their lives. It feels like they had long struggled with that situation and tried hard to believe God for it; and they begin to question if there is a dimension of faith they need to come into to lay hold on that miracle or question if God is willing to do anything about it. Our opening scripture teaches us it is the word of God that gives substance to our faith, and it takes being established, deeply rooted, and grounded in the word of faith to lay hold on the manifestation of the things that we are believing God for.
To be established in God’s word takes a series of deliberate processes that we must carefully follow. Just like becoming successful in any endeavor requires some specific principles, establishment in the word of faith requires schooling your spirit through the process. Romans 10:17 reads, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”. The hearing of faith is the start of the journey to being established in faith. What you feed on determines the content of your soul and the stability of your heart. You must be intentional to feed on the word of God constantly by listening to anointed messages and speaking the word to yourself repeatedly.
This leads to the second step of believing and receiving. When the word has been engrafted into your spirit, your mind gets used to it and your heart begins to believe, then you receive. You begin to see the possibility of those things leaping into being for you even if you have not experienced it in the physical. When you get to this point, don’t stop there because the devil will find all means to mock at you and bring to you the physical situation that you are passing through to make you lose what you have received in faith. You need to come to a point of full persuasion like Abraham (Romans 4:18-21). Once you come to this point of receiving God’s word as your own, taking it personal that you do not consider any contrary opinion, God is committed to you and will see to it that what you have received in your heart becomes a physical reality. So, it is very important that you get into the word, believe what God says concerning your situation and receive it as your present-hour reality. This is how we get results through faith.
My Solid Front (Confession)
I declare that the word of God is my life. In Him I see light and I understand all that Christ has prepared for me. I commit to giving attention to the word, believing what God says to me, receiving all that has been provided for me and living the best quality of life by the word in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Further Meditation: Romans 4:17-22
17 As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.”[a] He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.
18 Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”[b] 19 Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. 20 Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, 21 being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. 22 This is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.”
