Leverage Devotional For Today Message:

No matter the gifts or abilities a man possesses, without wisdom, he cannot fully express them. The Word of God declares that wisdom is principal, that is, significant, primary, and very important. In this life, nobody can become successful without wisdom. It takes wisdom to build anything valuable. The Word declares that Jesus Christ has been made wisdom unto us (1 Corinthians 1:30). The life and ministry of Jesus Christ is wisdom unto us. Observing the life of Jesus and studying how He went about His affairs on earth, how He ordered His conversation among sinners, the Pharisees, and His disciples reveals in no small measure the wisdom of God. Following the example of Jesus is following the wisdom of God. Again, Jesus Christ is the living Word (John 1:1-3, 14). Following the Word of God is walking in wisdom.

The wisdom of God is practical. The Word teaches that the wisdom of God is hearing and doing the Word. Jesus Christ, God’s wisdom personified, defined wisdom as hearing and doing the Word. Foolishness is hearing and not doing the Word (Matthew 7:24-27). Beloved, as you hear and do the Word consistently, you become wise. It is not enough just to hear God’s Word. You must be a doer of the Word to be wise (James 1:22). Wisdom is knowing and doing the will of God in every situation of your life. There are situations in your life where you need to make decisions about what to do, but there are no specific instructions written in black and white, in the scriptures. For example, who to marry, where to go to church, what career path to follow, where to live, etc. You need to go on your knees in prayers to God, asking Him to instruct you on what to do. He sure will guide you. The Word declares, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him” (James 1:5).

Heavenly Father, I thank You that Jesus Christ has been made wisdom unto me. I am glad the Word is my wisdom, and that I can assess Your wisdom through prayer. I declare that the wisdom of God is revealed in all that concerns me, in Jesus’ Name. AMEN.
