The Leverage Devotional by Apostle Segun Obadje 26 FEBRUARY 2024:THE MEANING OF PROSPERITY

Leverage Devotional For Today Message:

It is very easy to understand that prosperity is not having ‘not enough’ but sometimes, people think prosperity is having ‘just enough’. Beloved, there are three realms in life; first is the realm of ‘Not enough’, second is the realm of  ‘Just enough’ and third is the realm of  ‘More than enough’. Here is the good news I have for you; prosperity is in the realm of ‘more than enough’. In our opening scripture, I want you to put your attention or focus on the word ‘abound’. God is able to make all grace abound. The word ABOUND is from two words ‘A-’ and ‘BOUND’. Bound speaks of boundary or limitation and then ABOUND means ‘no limitation’. So, God is able to make all grace abound towards you. Now think about that. For example, if your monthly budget is $5,000 and you have a $20,000 provision from God; then this is what it means to abound.

The opening scripture further says that you always have ALL SUFFICIENCY IN ALL THINGS. Note that word again – SUFFICIENCY which means PROSPERITY and in ALL THINGS not in some things. God wants you to have all sufficiency in all things that you may abound to every good work, beloved. So, the goal of prosperity is actually giving to people in order to be a blessing. God wants you to have your needs met and God wants you to flow out to be a blessing to the poor, widows, orphans, etc. God wants you to be a blessing to the preaching of the gospel so you can support the preaching of the Gospel from coast to coast and to the end of the world. That’s God’s will for you. Prosperity is not just enough but more than enough.

My Solid Front (Confession)
Heavenly Father, thank You for showing me that Your will for me is prosperity in the dimension of more than enough. So, I release my faith to be a blessing to the preaching of the gospel and the less privileged around me in Jesus’ name.

Further Meditation: Isaiah 60:4-9; 1 Kings 10:14-29; 1 Timothy 6:17-19

“Lift up your eyes and look about you:
    All assemble and come to you;
your sons come from afar,
    and your daughters are carried on the hip.
Then you will look and be radiant,
    your heart will throb and swell with joy;
the wealth on the seas will be brought to you,
    to you the riches of the nations will come.
Herds of camels will cover your land,
    young camels of Midian and Ephah.
And all from Sheba will come,
    bearing gold and incense
    and proclaiming the praise of the Lord.
All Kedar’s flocks will be gathered to you,
    the rams of Nebaioth will serve you;
they will be accepted as offerings on my altar,
    and I will adorn my glorious temple.

“Who are these that fly along like clouds,
    like doves to their nests?
Surely the islands look to me;
    in the lead are the ships of Tarshish,[a]
bringing your children from afar,
    with their silver and gold,
to the honor of the Lord your God,
    the Holy One of Israel,
    for he has endowed you with splendor.

14 The weight of the gold that Solomon received yearly was 666 talents,[a] 15 not including the revenues from merchants and traders and from all the Arabian kings and the governors of the territories.

16 King Solomon made two hundred large shields of hammered gold; six hundred shekels[b] of gold went into each shield. 17 He also made three hundred small shields of hammered gold, with three minas[c] of gold in each shield. The king put them in the Palace of the Forest of Lebanon.

18 Then the king made a great throne covered with ivory and overlaid with fine gold. 19 The throne had six steps, and its back had a rounded top. On both sides of the seat were armrests, with a lion standing beside each of them. 20 Twelve lions stood on the six steps, one at either end of each step. Nothing like it had ever been made for any other kingdom. 21 All King Solomon’s goblets were gold, and all the household articles in the Palace of the Forest of Lebanon were pure gold. Nothing was made of silver, because silver was considered of little value in Solomon’s days. 22 The king had a fleet of trading ships[d] at sea along with the ships of Hiram. Once every three years it returned, carrying gold, silver and ivory, and apes and baboons.

23 King Solomon was greater in riches and wisdom than all the other kings of the earth. 24 The whole world sought audience with Solomon to hear the wisdom God had put in his heart. 25 Year after year, everyone who came brought a gift—articles of silver and gold, robes, weapons and spices, and horses and mules.

26 Solomon accumulated chariots and horses; he had fourteen hundred chariots and twelve thousand horses,[e] which he kept in the chariot cities and also with him in Jerusalem. 27 The king made silver as common in Jerusalem as stones, and cedar as plentiful as sycamore-fig trees in the foothills. 28 Solomon’s horses were imported from Egypt and from Kue[f]—the royal merchants purchased them from Kue at the current price. 29 They imported a chariot from Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty.[g] They also exported them to all the kings of the Hittites and of the Arameans.

1 Timothy 6:17-19 (NIV)
17 Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. 18 Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. 19 In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.
