The Leverage Devotional by Apostle Segun Obadje 9 January 2024: THE BLESSINGS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
Topic: THE BLESSINGS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
Romans 4:5-7; Psalm 32:1-2; Romans 8:1-4
Romans 4:5-7 “But to Him that worketh not, but believeth on that justifieth the ungodly, His faith is counted for righteousness, even as David also describes, the blessedness of the man unto whom God imputes righteousness without works, saying, blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered”.
Psalm 32:1-2:
1 Blessed is the one
whose transgressions are forgiven,
whose sins are covered.
2 Blessed is the one
whose sin the Lord does not count against them
and in whose spirit is no deceit.
1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,
2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you[a] free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh,[b] God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering.[c] And so he condemned sin in the flesh,
4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
Leverage Devotional For Today Message:
What a time and moment we’re in, in the history of mankind. It’s such a beautiful dispensation where we can be justified on the account of what Jesus did for us as our Substitute. This is a time of enjoying the blessings of the righteousness of Jesus Christ. Scriptures speak of two types of righteousness (Romans 10:1-6; Philippians 3:1-9). The first is the righteousness of the law, which is also known as self-righteousness. The second is the righteousness of faith, which is known as the righteousness of God. Today, we want to talk about the blessings of the righteousness of faith, which is called the righteousness of God.
The Word of the Lord reveals to us in Romans 4:5-7 about the blessedness of the man unto whom the Lord will not impute sin. It says blessed are those whose iniquities are forgiven, whose sins are covered, and to whom the Lord will not impute sin. In the righteousness of faith, your iniquities are forgiven. Your sins are not only covered and atoned for; they are in actual fact, remitted and blotted out entirely, never to be traced or tracked anymore. Thirdly, in the righteousness of faith, you are justified. In other words, God has justified you and will no longer impute sin to your account. So, don’t let anybody lay anything to your charge. Stand your ground and condemn every tongue that rises up against you in judgement for this is your heritage as God’s beloved and anointed. You are blessed because, by faith, you have been made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21).
My Solid Front (Confession):
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the blessing of the righteousness of faith. I declare that I have been justified from guilt and condemnation because my sins are forgiven and remitted in the name of Jesus! Hallelujah!
Further Meditation:
Romans 5:8-10 (NIV)
8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!
10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!
5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,
6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior,
7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life
