The Leverage Devotional by Apostle Segun Obadje 7 January 2024: THE SNARE IS BROKEN
Topic: THE SNARE IS BROKEN
36 As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”[a]
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
Leverage Devotional For Today Message:
In life, there are traps, holes, and pits dug by the wicked to entrap people, make a mess of their lives, and make them redundant without making measurable progress. Traps and snares are set by the enemy to destabilise unsuspecting victims, but thank God we have a way of escape in Christ. Our opening Scripture in Psalm 124: 6-8 assures us that God has provided a way of escape for His children. Beloved, God is saying you are not going to be prey to the teeth of the wicked. You can cry out right now with assurance of victory and say, “My soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowler, the snare is broken and I am escaped. Glory to God!” Now, confess that your help is in the name of the Lord who made the heaven and the earth.
Is there any snare that the enemy has set up for you or a pit that the enemy has dug for you? Hear the Word of the Lord, beloved, you will not fall into that pit. The wicked will fall into the pits that they have dug in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. The snare that the enemy has set for you is broken, and you have escaped. There is a way of escape for you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Your soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowler because the Lord has not given you as prey to the teeth of the wicked. The rod of the wicked will never rest upon your lot in the name of Jesus and you will not stretch forth your hand unto iniquity. Embrace the truth and reality which God has assured you of in His word. The snare is broken! Amen.
My Solid Front (Confession):
Heavenly Father, I thank You because, in Christ, a way of escape has been made for me from every trap, pit, and assault of the wicked. Now, I declare in the name of the Lord Jesus that my help is in the name of the Lord for He will give His angels charge over me to keep me in all of my ways! Hallelujah!
Further Meditation:
Nehemiah 6:1-16 (NIV)
1 When word came to Sanballat, Tobiah, Geshem the Arab and the rest of our enemies that I had rebuilt the wall and not a gap was left in it—though up to that time I had not set the doors in the gates—
2 Sanballat and Geshem sent me this message: “Come, let us meet together in one of the villages[a] on the plain of Ono.”But they were scheming to harm me;
3 so I sent messengers to them with this reply: “I am carrying on a great project and cannot go down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and go down to you?”
4 Four times they sent me the same message, and each time I gave them the same answer.
5 Then, the fifth time, Sanballat sent his aide to me with the same message, and in his hand was an unsealed letter
6 in which was written:“It is reported among the nations—and Geshem[b] says it is true—that you and the Jews are plotting to revolt, and therefore you are building the wall. Moreover, according to these reports you are about to become their king
7 and have even appointed prophets to make this proclamation about you in Jerusalem: ‘There is a king in Judah!’ Now this report will get back to the king; so come, let us meet together.”
8 I sent him this reply: “Nothing like what you are saying is happening; you are just making it up out of your head.”
9 They were all trying to frighten us, thinking, “Their hands will get too weak for the work, and it will not be completed.” But I prayed, “Now strengthen my hands.”
10 One day I went to the house of Shemaiah son of Delaiah, the son of Mehetabel, who was shut in at his home. He said, “Let us meet in the house of God, inside the temple, and let us close the temple doors, because men are coming to kill you—by night they are coming to kill you.”
11 But I said, “Should a man like me run away? Or should someone like me go into the temple to save his life? I will not go!”
12 I realized that God had not sent him, but that he had prophesied against me because Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.
13 He had been hired to intimidate me so that I would commit a sin by doing this, and then they would give me a bad name to discredit me.
14 Remember Tobiah and Sanballat, my God, because of what they have done; remember also the prophet Noadiah and how she and the rest of the prophets have been trying to intimidate me.
15 So the wall was completed on the twenty-fifth of Elul, in fifty-two days.
16 When all our enemies heard about this, all the surrounding nations were afraid and lost their self-confidence, because they realized that this work had been done with the help of our God.
6 Evildoers are snared by their own sin,
but the righteous shout for joy and are glad.
1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord watches over you—
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.
