Leverage Devotional For Today Message:
The believer in Christ has a blessed inheritance. The Bible teaches us in Ephesians 1:3 that we have been blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. This is our reality, and every child of God ought to walk in this level of blessings. However, not all believers are walking in these spiritual blessings that we have in Christ. This suggests that such believers are not making the most of the authority they have in Christ. It is not sufficient for you to know your rights and privileges in Christ; it is very important that you enforce and take delivery of them (Jude 1:3). Life in the spirit is essential to laying hold of all that God has planned out for you. Prayer is our access to the Father and a sure way of fueling spiritual life. Jesus exemplified this life for us while in the flesh. Scriptures reveal to us how He lived a life of prayer and encouraged the disciples to do same (Luke 18:1). If Jesus, the Son of God, maintained a regimented prayer life to fulfil His assignment here on earth, it is imperative that believers who are called to walk in the footsteps of Christ also do same. There is a fight of faith which believers are expected to engage in to access all that redemption has to offer (1 Timothy 6:12). You don’t enter your prophetic destiny by being lukewarm. Revelations 3:16 tells us that lukewarm believers are at the risk of being spewed out by God. That is not you in Jesus’ name! Amen.
Prayerlessness is a doorway to being exploited by the devil. Ephesians 4:27 tells us not to give place to the devil. There is an adversary (1 Peter 5:8), the accuser of the brethren (Revelation 12:10) who is on the prowl seeking whom to deny access to all that God has destined for them. Prayerlessness puts a believer at the mercy of the devil, while prayerfulness puts you in control and in charge. The devil knows that he is finished the moment a believer starts to pray, that is why he does everything to keep believers away from prayers. When you resist the devil, he is bound to flee. To fulfil God’s will for your life, you must pray! When you pray, you have light and understanding from the Word, making you undefeatable in all affairs of life. As a matter of fact, the only person you can be certain is praying for you is yourself; so, you cannot afford to be laid back about it. In prayers, we can focus on God and have access to revelations. We can enjoy a high traffic of angelic interventions when we pray. All these benefits elude a prayerless believer. Prayerlessness is a very dangerous state no believer should be in. You cannot afford it! To pray, you must be intentional. The grace to pray comes from praying; so, don’t procrastinate any longer. Get to prayers.
MY SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
In the name of Jesus, from today, I commit myself to prayers and I declare that I have what I say and that my life aligns with all the provisions that redemption makes available to me in Jesus’ name. Amen.
FURTHER MEDITATION: 1 Timothy 2:8; Luke 18:1-8; Acts 6:4
18 Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. 2 He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought. 3 And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’
4 “For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, 5 yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!’”
6 And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. 7 And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? 8 I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
4 and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.”
