The Leverage Devotional by Apostle Segun Obadje 7 January 2024: THE SNARE IS BROKEN
Topic: WRITE THE VISION
Habakkuk 2:2, Daniel 9:2
Habakkuk 2:2 “And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.”
2 in the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, understood from the Scriptures, according to the word of the Lord given to Jeremiah the prophet, that the desolation of Jerusalem would last seventy years.
Leverage Devotional For Today Message:
Vision is the revelation of God’s will and purpose for you. Our opening Scripture tells us to write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that reads it. Evidently, if the vision is not documented or written down and made plain, it cannot be read, and so no one can run with it. You only can run with a vision that has been written down. When a vision is well documented, it can be well understood, and can engender passion or fire to run with it. An unwritten vision is a lost one. That’s why it is important to write down your God-given ideas. You must never take for granted the blessing of eyes that see and of ears that hear. It is a huge blessing from God to have a heart that discerns the will of God. When God opens your eyes to see His plan for you, don’t take that for granted. Write down whatever He shows you. The entire Bible is a documentation of God’s will and purposes for man revealed to different persons in history. Thank God we have the Bible at our disposal today! It has become a huge bank of rich divine thoughts about us and our destinies in God. We can be inspired by it today as we meditate in it. What a blessing we have today in the written Word of God. That’s the blessing of writing down the revelation of God’s Word. When the vision is written down, it becomes a launch pad for the next generation, for whom it is written: “One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts” (Psalms 145:4).
One of the reasons we need to document our thoughts is that it releases power to be able to take initiatives. When thoughts are written down, then it becomes easy to act on them. Many of us have received awesome ideas from God but we just nodded our heads to them and never documented them; hence, we lost them. You need to know that thoughts are very volatile; they are like smoke and can fizzle out or evaporate. However, whatever is written down has been written. Articulate the opportunities that God gives you in writing, then you can subsequently consult with them and receive the needed impetus to take action. Daniel understood that Israel ought to have been released from captivity by reading the writings of the prophet Jeremiah, and then he began to make intercessions. What if Jeremiah’s prophecy had not been documented? Daniel wouldn’t have had any understanding. Write that vision, Beloved.
My Solid Front (Confession):
I declare in the Name of Jesus Christ that I give diligence to write the visions, thoughts and ideas that the Lord gives me. I am neither negligent nor complacent about the things that the Lord says to me. Therefore, I am enabled to run with clarity and achieve success in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Further Meditation:
Jeremiah 30:1-3 (NIV)
1 This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord:
2 “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘Write in a book all the words I have spoken to you.
3 The days are coming,’ declares the Lord, ‘when I will bring my people Israel and Judah back from captivity[a] and restore them to the land I gave their ancestors to possess,’ says the Lord.”
Jeremiah 36:1-8 (NIV)
1 In the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiah from the Lord:
2 “Take a scroll and write on it all the words I have spoken to you concerning Israel, Judah and all the other nations from the time I began speaking to you in the reign of Josiah till now.
3 Perhaps when the people of Judah hear about every disaster I plan to inflict on them, they will each turn from their wicked ways; then I will forgive their wickedness and their sin.”
4 So Jeremiah called Baruch son of Neriah, and while Jeremiah dictated all the words the Lord had spoken to him, Baruch wrote them on the scroll.
5 Then Jeremiah told Baruch, “I am restricted; I am not allowed to go to the Lord’s temple.
6 So you go to the house of the Lord on a day of fasting and read to the people from the scroll the words of the Lord that you wrote as I dictated. Read them to all the people of Judah who come in from their towns.
7 Perhaps they will bring their petition before the Lord and will each turn from their wicked ways, for the anger and wrath pronounced against this people by the Lord are great.”
8 Baruch son of Neriah did everything Jeremiah the prophet told him to do; at the Lord’s temple he read the words of the Lord from the scroll.
