The Leverage Devotional by Apostle Segun Obadje 3 FEBRUARY 2024: BROKEN BUT NOT BROKE

Leverage Devotional For Today Message:

God wants you broken. Psalm 51:17 says, “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.” A broken spirit/heart talks about a spirit/heart that is humble and meek to receive corrections and make amends where/when necessary. To be broken also means to be quick to repent, to be quick to yield to God, to be quick to act on God’s Word, to be quick to forgive, to be quick to reach out to people and be a blessing to them. While it pleases God for you to be broken, it is not God’s will for you to be broke (poor, in lack). God never intended for you to be broke. So, you can be broken and not broke. You are not part of the poor. God intended for you to minister to the poor, but don’t call yourself poor. You are not a poor minister.

As seen in the opening scripture, Jesus Christ became poor so that you might be rich. So, you are rich; don’t call yourself poor anymore. God wants you to have a contrite heart that trembles at His Word, but not a broke bank account, not a broke business, not a broke home nor a broke career. You must refuse any look-alike of being broke. You are a partaker of the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. He became broke so that you will not be broke. He bore your poverty, so His prosperity is yours now. It is not your lot to declare bankruptcy, even if the economy is in recession. Rather, you must declare the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ that though He was rich, yet for your sake, He became poor so that you, through His poverty, might be rich. Beloved, you are broken but not broke.

My Solid Front (Confession)
I declare that there is provision for abundance and prosperity in the substitutionary work of Christ for me. Therefore, I lay claim by faith today on kingdom wealth and riches. I am broken and contrite in my heart but not broke. So I declare that I am rich, I am blessed, I am broken, but not broke in Jesus’ name.

Further Meditation: Psalm 84:11; Isaiah 45:3, 14

11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
    the Lord bestows favor and honor;
no good thing does he withhold
    from those whose walk is blameless.

I will give you hidden treasures,
    riches stored in secret places,
so that you may know that I am the Lord,
    the God of Israel, who summons you by name.
