Anglican Devotional 11 February 2024 – God Is Holy

The Daily Fountain Devotional of the Church Of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) 11 February 2024 – God Is Holy

TOPIC: God Is Holy

READ: Psalm 99:4-9 (NKJV)

  1. The King’s strength also loves justice; You have established equity; You have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob.
  2. Exalt the LORD our God, And worship at His footstool — He [is] holy.
  3. Moses and Aaron were among His priests, And Samuel was among those who called upon His name; They called upon the LORD, and He answered them.
  4. He spoke to them in the cloudy pillar; They kept His testimonies and the ordinance He gave them.
  5. You answered them, O LORD our God; You were to them God-Who-Forgives, Though You took vengeance on their deeds.
  6. Exalt the LORD our God, And worship at His holy hill; For the LORD our God [is] holy

We have a holy God who loves justice, equity and righteousness and is to be exalted and worshipped. Moses, Aaron and Samuel were among those who called upon His name, and He answered them. God speaks to His people, gives them testimonies, answers their prayers, forgives their sins and takes vengeance on their misdeeds. That is why our God should be exalted and worshipped where His presence is, because He is a holy God.

Holiness is an intrinsic part of God and Christians have been called by God to live a life of holiness in their speech and conduct (1 Peter 1:15). Living a life of holiness demands that you lay aside every form of malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy or bad language. For you to grow in holiness, you need to be washed in the blood of Jesus, desire the pure milk of the Word of God and yield your life to the guidance and control of the Holy Spirit. Christians who want to be holy should seek the mind of Christ (Philippians 2: 5). Having such a mind will make you think and act like Jesus. So, think holy and live holy. Be holy for God is holy!

PRAYER: Holy Father, grant me the grace to live a holy life in Jesus’ name, Amen.
