Anglican Devotional 29 January 2024 – Harvest Mindset

The Daily Fountain Devotional of the Church Of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) 29 January 2024 – Harvest Mindset

TOPIC: Harvest Mindset

READ: John 4: 39-42 (NKJV)

  1. And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all that I [ever] did.”
  2. So when the Samaritans had come to Him, they urged Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days.
  3. And many more believed because of His own word.
  4. Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard [Him] and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”

THE MESSAGE:

The Samaritan woman was excited on discovering the Messiah. She left her water jar and hurried to town to tell her neighbours about Him – the One who uncovered her past. Her story opened up the whole Samaritan village to faith in Jesus Christ as the people rushed out of the city to meet Jesus, and many believed in Him. See how God uses an unlikely person to witness! The Samaritan woman was a new convert with no sound doctrine or training, yet she effectively evangelised her entire village for Christ!God uses witnesses who are excited about Jesus, and who have a harvest mindset, thereby inviting others to come to Jesus.

What are you doing about the spiritual need of your neighbours and family members? Don’t you know it’s your responsibility to reach out to them? God has put you there to be an effective witness to them. But in order to do this, you must be saved yourself because the testimony of a transformed person is extremely powerful in drawing friends and acquaintances to Christ. I invite you to come and encounter the Lord now if you haven’t. Jesus will save and use you as an effective witness to invite others to come to Him and be saved.

PRAYER: Father, give me a harvest mindset to put Your will and work above everything else, Amen.
