TOPIC: The Purpose Of Your Existence
READ: John 1: 6-8(NKJV)
- There was a man sent from God, whose name [was] John.
- This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe.
- He was not that Light, but [was sent] to bear witness of that Light.
The MESSAGE:
John was sent from God to bear witness about Jesus, who is the light of the world. “He came to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him”. This must challenge our hearts. The simple reason John came into the world was to bear witness to Jesus – he wanted all men to believe Jesus through him. He lived preaching Jesus, and died for his testimony to the Christ and His life. There is no other reason why God left us in this world after we became born again except to bear witness to Jesus by words and by life. We are not in this world primarily to chase money; we are not here to chase fame; we are not here simply to have children, train them to have a good life and then hope they will take care of us in our old age. God’s intention is that every born again child of His will live for His purpose and glory.
Note that every occupation that God has placed you in is only a platform to bear testimony for Him. We live to point men to God; we live to point men to the light of the gospel. If your life is not pointing others to Jesus; if others are not seeing Jesus in you, then you are defeating the purpose of your existence.
