Leverage Devotional For Today Message:

Hospitality is the art of showing kindness to guests or strangers. It is the quality of being friendly, courteous and magnanimous in serving people. It is excellent service delivery with benevolent readiness and willingness to meet needs. You see, people were made in the image of God (Genesis 1:26); therefore, service to humanity is service to God. You cannot serve people in love and not serve God. Serving people is serving God (1 John 4:19-21). You can capture and secure a future of grace and plenty by giving yourself to hospitality. Love must be the drive; love must be the motive and motivation. You must love people enough to serve them. Don’t ever play the boss when it comes to serving people, their religion, ethnic group, gender notwithstanding. People are people, irrespective of their nationality or religion.

Serving people with hospitality is refreshing and graceful when the image of God is in view. Be inventive in hospitality. Be outgoing when it comes to serving people in love. Seeds are instruments with which to command our lives. The Word of God declares in 2 Corinthians 9:10, “Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for [your] food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness.” God ministers seed to the sower; however, we must know that God does not do the sowing. He will not sow for us. It is primarily our responsibility to sow seeds out of the abundance that God has blessed us with. Any ability, any privilege, any skill we possess with which we can serve people is a seed. Giving to God and to people is a good way to sow our seeds. Give to people even when they don’t seem to deserve it. Be hospitable.

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the privilege to serve people (Your image) with the gifts, skills and talents You have given me. I give myself to hospitality in the service of humanity in Jesus’ Name. AMEN.
