Leverage Devotional For Today Message:

Righteousness is the ability to stand before God without any sense of guilt, condemnation or inferiority complex. Righteousness is having bold access to God. It is the ability to stand before God free of sin, sin consciousness or unworthiness. It is the freedom of expression before the Father. Before Jesus came, no man could attain righteousness because we were trying to obtain it by works. Men had a set of rules, that is, the law but they couldn’t keep them (Romans 8:1-3). Instead, the law made them conscious of sin. This is because the human nature is rebellious. If an instruction is given, the first instinct is to disobey that instruction. So, no one could keep the whole law and if you failed in one, you failed in all. It was so bad that God called their righteousness filthy rags before Him. Righteousness by works is unattainable (Galatians 2:6, 3:11). However, Jesus came and did something mind blowing. He became sin for us on the cross so that our sin nature can be replaced with his righteous nature (I Peter 3:18).

Once you acknowledge what Jesus has done on the cross for you, and believe He came to die for your sins and was raised up for your justification, and you confess His lordship over you, you become reborn, that is, born again. At that instant of faith in Jesus Christ, you are made right with God with so much perfection as though you had never done wrong. You become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. This is one of the amazing exploits of redemption for humanity. Your nature is changed to a righteous nature. You don’t have to struggle to be righteous by obeying a set of rules anymore. You are made righteous by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9). All you have to do is believe and walk in this reality.

MY SOLID FRONT (CONFESSION)

Father, I thank You because I am Your righteousness in Christ Jesus. Righteousness is my nature. I have been accepted in the beloved. I don’t have to struggle with laws and rules. I am righteous by grace and I do Your will joyfully, in Jesus’ Name. AMEN.
