Leverage Devotional For Today Message:

When you got saved, it wasn’t so much of something happening to you, but so much of you happening in God. The instant you believed and confessed the lordship of Jesus, you happened in God and became born of Him. For example, when a child is born, it is not said that something has happened to the child, but that the child has happened. People rejoice because of the ‘happening’ of the child. The child is a phenomenon. In the same vein, when you got saved, you became a brand-new man; not a panel-beaten, renovated man, but a brand-new man. An entirely new creature was born. The old you died and a new man was born in his place. Though your physical look did not change after you became born again, yet you are a new creature.

Man is primarily a spirit who has a soul and lives in a body (I Thessalonians 5:23). The essence of man is his spirit. When the spirit leaves the body, the body turns into dust. However, that person still continues to exist. This tells us that man is much more than the body. The physical body is just a container keeping man on this earth. That is why it is foolhardy to let your body dictate to you. It is the spirit that is born again. The old spirit that existed died and a brand-new spirit was born, a spirit that is alive to God. A spirit that has been made righteous was born. You are a new creature. The old you does not exist anymore. It doesn’t matter how terrible the sins you committed in the past were because the person who committed those sins exists no more. You have become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Sin no longer has dominion over you (Romans 6:14). There is no more condemnation for you (Romans 8:1). The seed of Christ is in you (I John 3:8-9). Glory to God!

MY SOLID FRONT (CONFESSION)
Father, I thank You because I have become Your righteousness in Christ Jesus. I have been saved by grace through faith and the old me exists no more. I walk in the consciousness of who I am before You in Jesus’ Name. AMEN.
