Leverage Devotional For Today Message:


Prayer is communication, communion, fellowship between God and man. It is not all about making requests unto God. Worship and praise are all imbedded in prayer. When you became a believer, the spirit of God re-created your human spirit and made you His abode. You became a child of God. It, however, doesn’t end there. There must be an interaction between you and your heavenly Father through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in you. There must be a constant daily fellowship. Every child that loves his/her earthly father interacts with him. Even when the child is married, he/she still calls and visits his /her father. If we do this with our earthly parents, how much more our heavenly Father who loves us more than we can even comprehend. If you make a new friend today and collect his/her contact but do not call or send a text message thereafter by way of follow-up on your friendship, it can be deduced from your action that you never intended for something serious to happen between you both. In the same vein, if you say you love God and do not make out time to fellowship with Him in prayer and meditation in His Word, your claim is empty.

Christians ought always to pray. The Word of God admonishes the believer to pray without ceasing. We all ought to give ourselves to prayer as a matter of consecration and ministry to the Lord. Why? This is because God has made us priests and kings (a kingdom of priests) unto Himself (Revelation 5:10). We (Christians) are priests by calling. We have been called alongside our High Priest, Jesus Christ, to minister in the holy things of God. This is a noble ministry to be held in the highest esteem by the believer. It is imperative that we have prayer times or schedules and prayer places to organise and facilitate our prayer life.

MY SOLID FRONT (CONFESSION)
Father, I thank You for the privilege to be called Your child. I will always fellowship with You and pray to You. I receive the grace to pray and not faint. I enjoy the help of the Holy Spirit and I am built up as He helps me to pray, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
