Leverage Devotional For Today Message:

The relationship between a husband and wife is almost similar to this revelation of ‘Christ in the believer’. A man leaves his father and mother and cleaves to his wife so that they become one flesh (Genesis 2:24-25). The wife bears and answers the name of her husband in the covenant. She and the husband are one in the covenant of marriage, and through fellowship with each other, they become one flesh. In the same vein, Jesus left heaven to come to earth and became the Anointed One (Christ), to cleave unto the church (us). You see, the believer is already in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). However, the forming of Christ in the believer is paramount for there to be fellowship (Galatians 4:19; Ephesians 3:14-16). Fellowship is one in another, and another in one (John 17:22-23). It’s not enough for you to be in Christ. Christ must live and be formed in you for perfect fellowship. This is God’s great plan for you.

The forming of Christ in the believer is a process. It started when you got saved. When you became born again, you were born into Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). Initially, it might be a bit difficult to fellowship with God through the Word and prayer. There might be distractions and the cares of this world but as you keep the goal of your oneness with Christ in view and let the love of God motivate and pull you into fellowship with Him, before long, fellowship becomes easier, sweeter, and smoother. Beloved, there is a high calling of God for you in Christ Jesus. God desires for you to be fully developed and rounded in all His will and purposes for you. His plan for achieving this is the forming of Christ in you. Get into fellowshipping with God. Plunge yourself into loving, seeking, and fellowshipping with God as you practise the Word and His presence daily.

Father, I thank You, because Christ in me is the hope of glory. As I fellowship with You daily in Your Word and through prayers, Christ is being formed in me. You and I become one ‐ inseparable and organically one in Jesus’ Name. AMEN.
