The Leverage Devotional by Apostle Segun Obadje 19 July 2024: The Present-Hour Reality Of The Word

Leverage Devotional For Today Message:

In understanding the power of the Word of God, we first and foremost need to understand the nature of the Word. The Word of God is in the now. God is the I AM THAT I AM (Exodus 3:14) and God is one with His Word (John 1:1). So, God’s Word is I AM. The Word is always in the now. God’s Word is in the eternal now, and when the Word is spoken, you can receive the effect of that word now. For example, Prophet Isaiah prophesied about the redemptive work of Christ at Calvary in Isaiah 53:4-5. That scripture says, “Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” This prophecy refers to the healing made available by the stripes and afflictions of Jesus for humanity. But Jesus engaged this prophecy, even in his earthly walk before He took our place as our substitute on the cross. Matthew 8:16-17 says, “When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses”. Now think about that. God’s Word is eternal; it is not limited to a chronological order or calendar in the natural. Once it has been spoken, it can come into reality RIGHT NOW! That is the potency and the power of God’s Word.

Whatever God has said to you, you can receive the effect of it now. God does not think as man thinks. He is not limited to the times and seasons defined by man. God spoke to Abraham, calling Him a Father of nations. This was an old man whose body was dead, and whose wife could no longer conceive a baby. Romans 4:17 says, “As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations, before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were”. God’s Word said to a man without a child, “I have made you a father.” His history of infertility did not match up with that Word. Abraham should not consider that word because even in his future, in the natural, it was no longer possible for him to be a father. How much more a Word that was spoken in a ‘past tense’. The tenses of God’s Word are eternal, meaning you do not interpret it with natural timing. God calls the things that do not exist as though they were already in existence. So, you can receive the effect of God’s word now, even if it is spoken for the future or it was spoken for the past. That is the present-hour reality of God’s Word.

My Solid Front (Confession):
In the name of Jesus, I declare that I walk in the present-hour reality of God’s Word. What God has said concerning me is not limited by natural human timing. Because God has said it, I declare it is my present-hour reality in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Further Meditation: Romans 4:13-25
