Leverage Devotional For Today Message:

Believing God is the easiest way to enjoy life as a believer; yet most believers find it very difficult to do so. Abraham was declared righteous simply because he believed God. He was not involved in spiritual gymnastics. He simply had faith in God (Genesis 15:6). Abraham got busy trusting God and God got busy blessing him. Believing God is taking His Word at face value, trusting God wholly and simply. For example, God says, “I will enlarge you”, and you take it as He has said it. That is what believing God entails! Christianity is very simple; it takes a theologian to complicate it. “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ” (II Corinthians 11:3). God is looking for those who will believe Him with child-like faith, in simplicity and sincere trust.

Man fell because Adam didn’t trust God. All God needed was for Adam to trust Him. An instruction was given not to eat of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The response should have been a simple ‘Yes, Lord!’ with an unshakable trust in God’s Word. To believe God is to act on His Word with absolute surrender. Acting on God’s Word is the only biblical proof that we believe and love God. We cannot say we believe God and only nod our heads at His Word without an actual and practical obedience to Him. Any ‘Christianity’ that is void of doing what the Word says in simple faith is mere religion and cannot reveal God to this generation. It is only doers of the Word that are blessed indeed. Beloved, biblical faith is doing the Word (James 1:22; John 14:15). There is no place for doubt in relating with God.

 

MY SOLID FRONT (CONFESSION)
Heavenly Father, I put my trust in You. I trust You absolutely. I believe every Word that You say because You are not a man that You should lie. I take Your Word at face value and obey You in Jesus’ Name. AMEN.
