The Leverage Devotional by Apostle Segun Obadje 16 FEBRUARY 2024: GOD WILL FIGHT FOR YOU
Exodus 14:13-14, 15:3; 2 Chronicles 20:15-17
Exodus 14:13-14 “And Moses said onto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord which he will show you today. For the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, you shall see them again no more forever. The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace”.
3 The Lord is a warrior; the Lord is his name.
15 He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s. 16 Tomorrow march down against them. They will be climbing up by the Pass of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the gorge in the Desert of Jeruel. 17 You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.’”
Leverage Devotional For Today Message:
The Lord is a Man of war. Our God does not shy away from a battle. On several accounts in scriptures, we have seen God fighting for, and defending His own people. God rose against Pharaoh and the Egyptians to set the Israelites free from captivity. God fought Egypt with 10 different plagues and by drowning Pharaoh and his chariots in the red sea. The Israelites didn’t have to raise a sword or spear to fight for their release. When the children of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir brought a fight to Judah, it was God who fought them. Judah was clearly at a physical disadvantage in the battle against their adversaries, but that did not matter because God took up their battle. God told them that the battle is not theirs but His. Beloved, be assured that God will fight for you. You will not need to fight that battle. God will beat down your enemies before you and plague all those who hate you. The Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will see them no more forever.
David said something very profound in the battle against Goliath; “and all this assembly shall know that the Lord saves not with sword and spear, for the battle is the Lord’s and He will give you into our hands” (1 Samuel 17:47). Beloved, that battle is the Lord’s, not yours. Sheathe your sword, trust in the Lord, and He will give your enemies into your hands in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord will fight for you. He is a Man of war and there is no way you can fight your battle better than He would fight for you. Commit that situation to the Lord and He will defend you. Fear not; stand still and you will see the salvation of the Lord.
My Solid Front (Confession)
Heavenly Father, I worship You because You are the Man of war and the Lord is your name. Thank You because You have said to me to be still and I will know that You are God. So, I turn the battle over to you, Lord, and I hold my peace in faith that I will see Your salvation. Amen

5 God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.
6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
he lifts his voice, the earth melts.
7 The Lord Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.
8 Come and see what the Lord has done,
the desolations he has brought on the earth.
9 He makes wars cease
to the ends of the earth.
He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the shields[d] with fire.
10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
11 The Lord Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.
26 “There is no one like the God of Jeshurun,
who rides across the heavens to help you
and on the clouds in his majesty.
27 The eternal God is your refuge,
and underneath are the everlasting arms.
He will drive out your enemies before you,
saying, ‘Destroy them!’
28 So Israel will live in safety;
Jacob will dwell[a] secure
in a land of grain and new wine,
where the heavens drop dew.
29 Blessed are you, Israel!
Who is like you,
a people saved by the Lord?
He is your shield and helper
and your glorious sword.
Your enemies will cower before you,
and you will tread on their heights.”
