The Leverage Devotional by Apostle Segun Obadje 15 September 2024: Praying Always

Leverage Devotional For Today Message:

The illustration of how a macho man builds up his muscles comes to mind when considering the subject of building up one’s spirit through prayer to stay aglow spiritually. The bodybuilder who seeks to be fit and look good physically, visits the gym regularly. He doesn’t exercise once in a while; he doesn’t go to the gym when he feels like, either. He exercises himself by principle, not by feelings. Usually, he arrives at the gym at a particular time daily, mostly in the mornings. He begins his routine workout, observing diverse exercises and stretches. He moves from one equipment to another, doing different styles and laps to develop different parts of his body. He follows strictly the rule governing a complete workout of his body so he does not end up with a disproportionate body or muscle mass tone.

Prayer is as much communication with God as it is a spiritual exercise. When we give ourselves to prayer, we are strengthened within us by the Holy Spirit to function according to divine design (Ephesians 3:14-17). Prayer is the legitimate avenue through which God’s Spirit can effect changes in our lives and through us. The Word admonishes us to build up ourselves on our most holy faith by praying in the Holy Ghost (Jude 1:20). This kind of prayer is spirit building, spirit strengthening, and spirit energizing. It is the kind of praying that is done by our spirit through the Holy Spirit within us unto the Father. The Word declares that praying in other tongues is a good way to pray with your spirit by the Holy Spirit within you (1 Corinthians 14:14 AMP). Praying in other tongues charges up your spirit like a battery is charged. When you pray in tongues regularly, your spirit becomes enthused with divine energy to function in the realm of God.

MY SOLID FRONT (CONFESSION)
Heavenly Father, I thank You for showing me the importance of prayer. I hereby commit myself to ceaseless prayer to stay aglow in the spirit, in Jesus’ Name. AMEN.

Further Meditation: Luke 18:1‐8; 2 Timothy 1:3
