Leverage Devotional For Today Message:

God’s plan for you is to reign in life. To reign in life is to stay in charge of all the vital elements of your life, steering situations and circumstances in your favour. You see, God made man in His image and after His likeness (Genesis 1:26). God made you like Him, and God is always in charge. He hasn’t been out of control once. You ought not to be any different from your heavenly Father. God is in the business of enlightening us on this truth. God wants your heart to absolve this reality so much so that your eyes of understanding will be enlightened. God meant for you to reign in life not by struggling, hustling and bustling, but by abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness. Righteousness means rightness, the quality of being right or having rights. It is the quality of being in right standing with God, that is, without any sense of guilt, sin or fault consciousness or condemnation. This is an amazing discovery from God’s Word.

Righteousness is not by works, but by faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 10:1-10; 3:21-22; Philippians 3:9). The instant one believes in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, one becomes righteous. Amazing, isn’t it? Righteousness is the gift of faith in Jesus Christ, not the reward of works. One of the benefits of our right standing with God is the confidence to use Heaven’s resources to accomplish God’s mandate for our lives on earth. Through prayers, we can access the vast resources of God for us in Christ. Now that you are righteous and you know that God holds no record of your sins anymore, and that the devil has nothing against you, how should you carry yourself as you face life’s challenges and hiccups? You ought to be on top of life’s challenges by speaking the Word of faith consistently because you are righteous.

Thank You, Father, because You have made me a King and You’ve given me authority here on earth. I reign as a King and I exercise dominion over all things in Jesus’ Name. AMEN.
