TOPIC: Untapped Potentials (Open Heaven for Teens 29 July 2024)

MEMORISE: Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them:… – Romans 12:6

READ: Romans12:6-8

6. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
7. Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
8. Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Chronicles 24:1-25:28 Romans 12 :1- 21

MESSAGE

At birth, everyone has some potentials that have been put inside them by God. It is our duty, however, to discover and express them appropriately. In my youth, I discovered that I had the capacity to do different things, such as sports, farming, teaching, songwriting, playing the piano, and writing. I focused on my potentials one after the other, and I began to see others unfold. The truth is, when you discover one thing about yourself, you open the door to many more discoveries.

The first thing to do on this journey of self-discovery is to think critically about your strengths. Many young people avoid productive thinking and meditation and would rather ask others for ideas on what they can do. My dear child, please learn to sit quietly, think, and then seek opportunities to express your potentials through volunteering. This will help you to know which potentials to focus on as you grow older. As you move on in life, you can earn and make a living from some of the potential that you focus on and develop.

Therefore, engage in activities that will benefit you in future.

KEY POINT:
You have untapped potentials in you; discover them.

HYMN 21: Standing On The Promises Of Christ My King

1. Standing on the promises of Christ, my King,
Through eternal ages let his praises ring;
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
Standing on the promises of God.

Refrain:
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God, my Savior;
Standing, standing,
I’m standing on the promises of God.

2. Standing on the promises that cannot fail.
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living Word of God I shall prevail,
Standing on the promises of God. [Refrain]

3. Standing on the promises of Christ, the Lord,
Bound to him eternally by love’s strong cord,
Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,
Standing on the promises of God. [Refrain]

4. Standing on the promises I cannot fall,
List’ning ev’ry moment to the Spirit’s call,
Resting in my Savior as my all in all,
Standing on the promises of God. [Refrain]
