Open Heaven For Teens 25 August 2024 – Contentment

TOPIC: Contentment (Open Heaven for Teens 25 August 2024)

MEMORISE: But godliness with contentment is great gain., – 1 Timothy 6:6

READ: 1 Timothy 6:6-10

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Job 16:1-19:29, 1 Corinthians 16:1-24

MESSAGE

To be content is to be satisfied with what you have. We live in a world that is constantly bombarding us with messages about what we need to be happy, the things we need to have, and what we need to look like. However, as a child of God, you have a different standard. You have the teachings of Jesus and the wisdom of the Bible to guide you on the path of contentment.

Philippians 4:11-13 shows that true contentment comes from within, and it is something that you can achieve no matter what your circumstances are. If you are content, the devil will have a hard time enticing you. A lot of teenagers who engage in all sorts of vices do so because they are not content with what they have.

Contentment does not mean that you will not strive for anything. You can still have ambitions and goals, but you must keep them in perspective (Colossians 3:23-24) and not let them consume you. Beloved, as stated in today’s memory verse, be content in all that you do.

KEY POINT: Be content.

HYMN 41: JESUS, MY LORD, MY GOD, MY ALL

  1. Jesus, My Lord, My God, My All,
    Hear Me, Blest Saviour, When I Call;
    Hear Me, And From Thy Dwelling Place
    Pour Down The Riches Of Thy Grace;

Refrain:
Jesus, My Lord, I Thee Adore;
Oh Make Me Love Thee More And More.

  1. Jesus, Too Late I Thee Have Sought;
    How Can I Love Thee As I Ought?
    And How Extol Thy Matchless Fame,
    The Glorious Beauty Of Thy Name?
  2. Jesus, What Didst Thou Find In Me,
    That Thou Hast Dealt So Lovingly?
    How Great The Joy That Thou Hast Brought
    So Far Exceeding Hope Or Thought!
  3. Jesus, Of Thee Shall Be My Song,
    To Thee My Heart And Soul Belong;
    All That I Have Or Am Is Thine,
    And Thou, Blest Saviour, Thou Art Mine
