The Daily Fountain Devotional of the Church Of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) 24 February 2024 – Good Relationship With God

TOPIC: Good Relationship With God

READ: Psalm 16: 1-6(NKJV)

  1. A Michtam of David. Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust.
  2. [O my soul,] you have said to the LORD, “You [are] my Lord, My goodness is nothing apart from You.”
  3. As for the saints who [are] on the earth, “They are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.”
  4. Their sorrows shall be multiplied who hasten [after] another [god;] Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, Nor take up their names on my lips.
  5. O LORD,[You are] the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot.
  6. The lines have fallen to me in pleasant [places;] Yes, I have a good inheritance.

THE MESSAGE:

Today is St. Matthias Day and also Church of Nigeria Day when we commemorate the 182 years Anniversary of our church in Nigeria. In our text, we see that David has a good relationship with God such that he trusts Him for his preservation, his goodness comes from Him, he delights in the saints, and has God as his inheritance. David is happy that he has a good inheritance from God.

David understood the importance of having a personal relationship with God, and it enhanced his love and trust for Him. Any believer that must go far in his Christian race must develop a strong and intimate relationship with the Lord. Christians have a wonderful gift from the Lord Jesus because it is in Him that we have obtained an inheritance according to the counsel of His will (Eph. 1: 11). Do you have a personal relationship with God? Is He your Father with whom you interact and communicate on a daily basis? If not, you should call upon the Lord Jesus right now to save you from your sins. Then you will become a member of God’s family (John 1: 12-13). Try it now and talk to God in prayer!

PRAYER: O Lord, I come to You today for adoption into Your family in Jesus’ name. Amen.
