Leverage Devotional For Today Message:

From today’s opening Scripture, the possibility of abounding in the many-sidedness of grace is evident – in faith, in utterance, in knowledge, in all diligence, in love for people, and giving. The Corinthian Church abounded in faith. Paul desired that they abound in the grace of liberality also, just as they have abounded in faith, in knowledge, in diligence and love. They had already come into the grace of God through new birth, but Paul wanted them to abound in grace, particularly the grace of liberality. He said, “…see that ye abound in this grace also.” This means that it was their responsibility to abound in the grace of liberality. The Word tells us that we can abound in grace if we take responsibility for making it so. In essence, you only increase in grace as you take responsibility for doing so.

The Word tells us in 2 Corinthians 9:8 “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you…”. Since God can make all grace abound toward us, the question then is, How does He make grace abound towards us? In context, we are looking at the grace of liberality. So, how does this grace abound toward us? Apostle Paul had charged the Corinthian Church that they give cheerfully of their material resources to bless other churches, particularly the Church at Jerusalem. Then he said that God would cause them to abound in all grace unto all sufficiency in all things. This is the principle: they are to give in faith and cheerfully for love and trust in God, then God causes all grace to abound towards them unto all sufficiency. The key to walking in grace is faith in God. Beloved, you will walk in grace to the same degree that you trust God acting on His Word in absolute faith. Access to grace is by faith (Ephesians 2:8-9). So, to abound in the grace of liberality, be a prompt, cheerful, and outgoing giver. Remember, God loves a cheerful giver.

I declare in the Name of Jesus that I give heed to consistent and cheerful giving as I abound in the liberality grace. I am a giver and liberal unto all; I am empowered to abound unto every good work. Amen.
