Leverage Devotional For Today Message:

As a child of God, one of the things that the Word of God will do for you is to correct you when you are not walking in line with the Father’s will. Our heavenly Father desires for all His children to walk in line with His will, and when He sees that we are out of alignment with His will, He brings to us His Word of correction. When we take heed to His correction, our lives are improved and we can enjoy His blessings more, and become more effective for the Lord in this world. When the Lord rebukes us, it is for our good and benefit. Hebrews 12:10 says that God chastises us for our profit so that we might be partakers of His holiness. However, those who refuse to heed the Word of correction and rebuke from the Lord tread on dangerous grounds. “Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.”(Proverbs15:10).

When God corrects us, it means that we are not walking on the right path, that is, we need to make amends. The Bible says, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” (Proverbs 14:12). The wrong path leads to death, and since God doesn’t want any to perish He sends us His Word of correction to save us from the path of death and destruction. When we heed His rebuke, we walk in the path of life and prosperity (Proverbs 4:20-22; Psalm 16:11). Beloved, God does not correct with afflictions, sicknesses, diseases, and poverty. He is a good God. It is the devil who oppresses with evil, not God (Acts 10:38). There is no evil in God (I John 1:5). Therefore, don’t expect God to correct you with evil; He only corrects by His Word.

Dear heavenly Father, I thank You because You will not leave me to myself to come to ruin. Thank You because even if I take a wrong step, you will align me back to Your will by Your Word. Amen.
