Leverage Devotional For Today Message:

The Lord Jesus showed us from Matthew 4:4 that our true sustenance is to come from God’s Word and not just from physical food. Man is a spirit, he possesses a soul, and he lives in a body. The true essence of man is not in his physical body, which is also called the outer man, but in his inner man, made up of his spirit and soul together. What physical food is to the physical body, the Word of God is to the inner man. “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the Word, that ye may grow thereby” (1Peter 2:2). This shows us that God’s Word can be to the human spirit what milk is to newborn babes. New believers can take in the milk of God’s Word and grow to the point where they can now take in the meat of the Word (1 Corinthians 3:1-2).

Just as the food we take into our bodies brings about growth, the Word of God which we receive and assimilate into our spirits brings about spiritual development. A new-born child doesn’t have to pray for growth; it just continues to feed on its mother’s milk and grows gracefully. In the same way, spiritually, we grow gracefully and effortlessly as we feed on God’s Word, moving from grace to grace. God’s Word is food for our spirits for strength, sustenance, vitality, and growth. We ought to feed on the Word daily. As you feed on God’s Word daily, your spiritual growth will become evident for all to see, and you will be able to handle and do more for the kingdom of God. You’ll come unto maturity as you feed and act on the Word daily.

MY SOLID FRONT (CONFESSION)
Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Word that is food for my spirit. I declare that I grow rapidly as I feed on Your Word in Jesus’ Name. AMEN.
