The Leverage Devotional by Apostle Segun Obadje 25 January 2024: Abounding in Thanksgiving

Jeremiah 30:19; Ephesians 1:3; 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Jeremiah 30:19 “And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.”

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

Leverage Devotional For Today Message:

Thanksgiving is acknowledgement of receipt. When you give thanks, it means you recognise and acknowledge another person who has shown you goodness. Thanksgiving to God is the acknowledgement of God’s divine blessing upon us. As seen in Jeremiah 30:19, God promises multiplication and glorification for everyone who offers Thanksgiving and makes merry. Those who abound in Thanksgiving will not be few and they will not be small. This means they won’t be insignificant in the scheme of things. This highlights the potency of the sacrificial act of Thanksgiving. Clearly, Thanksgiving is the key to God’s divine intervention. Beloved, rather than dwell on what went wrong in your life, express gratitude for everything that has gone right, or goes right. Why? “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” (Numbers 23:19). God is faithful and true to His word. If He has said it, then He will do it. So, even when you’re in a phase where you’re expecting a miracle, give thanks to the Miracle Worker because He is the One who alone does great wonders (Psalms 136:4).

Abounding in Thanksgiving means having a constant overflow of gratitude. Regardless of circumstances, our Thanksgiving shouldn’t waver for it is God’s will that we should give thanks (1 Thessalonians 5:18). In times of challenges, give thanks even more, knowing that God’s goodness endures forever. Stir up your faith, meditate on God’s goodness, and maintain gratitude. Through meditation, the continuity of thanksgiving thrives. Beloved, are there challenges you’re facing right now? Give thanks over them and witness how God puts an end to those challenges, causing you to increase on all sides. Guard your heart to stay in the zone of thanksgiving by continually meditating on God’s goodness, and you will see the increase of the Lord.

My Solid Front (Confession):
Thank You, Father, for Your willingness to increase me. Therefore, I declare that as I continually give thanks, You multiply me, I won’t be few; You glorify me, I won’t be small. Amen.
